Description: “Trendsetter” Yip Long (Moses Chan), the powerful chief editor of MODES fashion magazine, is constantly at war. MODES’ publisher and top executive, Man (Hanjin Tan), is a scheming yes-man, always hiding a knife behind his fake smile. To restrict Long’spower and authority within the company, he appoints the former model Vincy (Ali Lee) as the director of the advertising department.
Long is not unfamiliar with office politics and welcomes Man’s challenge. However, a careless mistake on his part gets him involved in the wrong side of the law. This incident eventually leads him to hire editor assistant Yan (Sisley Choi), who originally made clothes in Sham Shui Po for a living.
Yan’s introduction to MODES put the fashion magazine in a heightened state of war, but Yan manages to overcome all obstacles through her positivity and hard work. Along with fashion editor Francis (Him Law), Yan helps Long overcome a crisis that threatened the business. Yan is confident that Long would announce her as his successor, but the road is not as smooth as it looks.
「美」從來沒有標準，為何雜誌介紹的「潮流」，卻可以操縱大眾對時裝的喜惡？揭開華麗光鮮的衣裳，大家發現的可能只是醜陋的人性，以及時尚界一場追逐金錢與權力的小圈子遊戲……
編輯部內 各懷鬼胎爭上位
葉朗(陳豪飾)五年前擔任時尚雜誌《MODES》的總編輯，令面臨停刊的雜誌起死回生，他更與專門負責研究時裝趨勢的好友馬承浩(陳山聰飾)，一起「創造潮流」，令《MODES》成為時尚界的參考指標。一期又一期的破銷量成績，使葉朗獲得「潮流教主」的稱號。
葉朗號稱帶領時尚界的旗手，但有一次竟被網民直斥使用翻版貨。一向功利的他發現事件與應徵助理編輯不遂的張逸寧(蔡思貝飾)有關，於是將計就計，聘用這位自小在深水埗長大的年輕人，乘機為雜誌製造話題。
逸寧一直是《MODES》的擁躉，亦是仰慕葉朗的忠實「教徒」，但她沒想到雜誌社編輯部裡面，由上至下都各懷鬼胎：副總編石慧珊(莊思敏飾)老謀深算，一直覬覦葉朗的「教主」地位；編輯徐以芯(楊秀惠飾)經常造謠生事，從內部矛盾中取利；助理編輯林可彤(陳瀅飾)表面單純友善，卻精於利用他人感情達到目的。
至於逸寧的直屬上司范國邦(羅仲謙飾)，則是一名工作態度得過且過的掛名編輯。原來國邦曾是當紅的時裝模特兒，後來因與小明星胡混令名聲受損，被經理人萬綺華(李亞男飾)派到《MODES》做半年編輯，重建形象。充滿雄心壯志的逸寧看出國邦是一頭沉睡的獅子，決定不惜一切，令他重拾工作的熱情。
編輯部外 時尚舞台鬥稱霸
葉朗在《MODES》呼風喚雨，然而來自編輯部以外的威脅，教他防不勝防。雜誌社的出版人池偉文(陳奐仁飾)自從葉朗加盟後，被架空權力、搶奪功勞，早已懷恨在心，加上他與綺華向有私情，所以一直想將葉朗踢走。
偉文於是安插失婚名媛紀芸芸(李佳芯飾)擔任廣告部總監，制衡葉朗獨大的勢力。充滿野心的芸芸因為曾被葉朗挖開家庭傷痛，積怨甚深，她利用與高層的關係和上流社會的人脈，向葉朗發動連場權力鬥爭。
另一方面，《MODES》的競爭對手《GINA》獲傳媒巨頭入股注資，其總編輯洪詩婷(呂慧儀飾)為取代《MODES》在時尚界的地位，大舉向對方挖角，令《MODES》的運作幾乎癱瘓。
內憂外患 潮流教主落誰家
葉朗在雜誌社面對內憂外患，腹背受敵。幸好，國邦在逸寧的衝勁、熱誠感染下，突然一洗頽風，並憑獨到的時尚觸覺、模特兒界的人際關係，助臨危受命的逸寧完成專欄特稿。三人在背水一戰下，帶領《MODES》成功過渡艱難日子，更聯手創出時尚界另一傳奇。
沒想到在這關鍵時刻，芸芸竟然找記者踢爆葉朗與品牌牽涉利益輸送，假造「潮流」！「潮流教主」名譽掃地，葉朗當眾宣佈辭去總編一職，並指明要逸寧接棒，其後一去無蹤。初入職場的逸寧如何在勾心鬥角的時尚圈中力挽狂瀾？葉朗的下場又是怎樣？
